Publicado el: 22 de marzo de 2007

Chile ranks first in information technology (IT) over Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico, according to the results of the Information Society Indicator (ISI) prepared by the Everis consulting firm and the Universidad de Navarra´s School of Business (IESE). This indicator measures the evolution of ITs and the development of key features such as economy, infrastructure, and social aspects.
The country leads growth in the number of computers per capita, with 201 computers per 1,000 residents. According to the report, Chile's ISI will continue to climb, primarily due to the rise in the number of computers available, a figure that is expected to keep increasing and reach 228 computers per 1,000 residents next March. Likewise, the per capita GDP is expected to exceed US$ 9,000 in early 2007.
