Salmon Cluster StudyPublished: September 17, 2008

As of today, the Salmon Cluster investment program is doing a study that will uncover new investment opportunities in the primary and secondary salmon industry here in Chile. This important study will update our information about the industry and will give our department targeted information in both markets. We believe this information will detect the opportunity to reach the next phase of the commercialization program.
This important study will be communicated through a public and private industry workshop that will take place Thursday, November 27 during a breakfast meeting at the Diego De Almagro's hotel, in Puerto Montt.
An important date to note is a preliminary evaluation of Norway as a potential business opportunity for investments. This evaluation will help create the strategic plans for further investment development in the industry. This trip will be during the 13th to the 17th week of October. Further updates on the finalized date will be provided.
Our activities for 2009 involves an investment fórum that will take place November 2009 at a date later to be confirmed. This fórum will invite potential investors belonging to the primary and secondary salmon industries. Our objective for this fórum is to provide information on the various CORFO support offerings as well as targeted site survey on potential investment opportunities.
Our further studies for the investment program includes a cooperative study with Sernapesca. This study will identify the various illnesses that affect the national salmon industry for the Los Lagos as well as the Aysen Regions. This high-impact study looks to resolve escalating problems in these salmon producing regions.
