Financial Times: Chile is region's best financial centerPublished: October 27, 2008
The specialized magazine The Banker, published by the British Financial Times newspaper, spared no praise in its latest edition regarding Chile's economic performance, referring to Chile as Latin America's best financial center and including it among the world's most competitive centers.

The article highlights that system reform in Chile has allowed foreign capital influx and created financial incentives for expanding local companies and established institutions.
According to The Banker, foreign investors coming to Chile are not only interested in its burgeoning export industry, but also because it serves as a platform for accessing other Latin American instruments.
Among the favorable aspects mentioned are the in-depth and lengthy institutional reforms, countercycle monetary policies, and government commitment to achieve and maintain fiscal balance excluding ramifications from fluctuations in economic activity and the price of copper. The fiscal surplus, debt reduction, and rapid accumulation of assets in recent years are all praised by the FT. "No country in the world has signed more international treaties than Chile" reveals the report.
