Project developers, investors and business men are going to be part of the Renewable Energies International Forum

Organized for fifth consecutive year by InvestChile, the idea of this Forum is to generate a business interchange space by gathering private investors and financiers with project developers of electrical generation such as Non-Conventional Renewable Energy (NCRE) and the connected industry.

In the context of the Fifth International Meeting of Renewable Energy Investments, InvestChile organized the International Forum "Chile: Investment Opportunity in the Renewable Energy Sector", and this year will gather 33 projects of electrical generation in financing search, 60 investors, 22 companies of the connected industries interested in planning opportunities in the country.

The event will be on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th November at the Hyatt Hotel, has as main objective generate entrepreneurial interchange between private investors and financiers with project developers of electrical generation in order to attract investments in the connected industry associated to the production of specialized goods and services.

During this international forum, the audience will have the opportunity of knowing about the Chilean electrical market, and about the experience of developers in diverse technologies related to the NCRE and information about financing, among others. Besides, the participants can be part of the round of business that will be developed during the afternoon of both days, where they are going to be able to create business ties among them.

The event will have national and international companies from countries such as Australia, Austria, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Spain, United States, France, Holland, Ireland, England, Italy, Norway, New Zealand, Switzerland and Sweden, among others.

Juan Antonio Figueroa, Business Development Manager and Head of InvestChile of Corfo, pointed out that "it is a great opportunity to let people know different Non-Conventional Renewable Energy projects that are competitive in our national context, also to be able to show the attractions of our country as an export platform for goods and services of this industry for the satisfaction of both national and international demand".

In the four previous versions of the event, there have been more than 3,000 participants between entrepreneurs and investors and there have been more than 3,200 business meetings with local businessmen and foreign financiers.

It is important to mention that this event is carried out in the framework of the Fifth Conference for the International Investment in Renewable Energies, that will last three days and from which there will be an exposition room and an international seminar on "Trends and Challenges for the development of NCRE in emerging markets", organized by the Renewable Energies Center (CER) in November 9.

Investment Support in Renewable Energies

Chile has large advantages on its natural resources that offer important investment opportunities for investors in Non-Conventional Renewable Energies; also, it offers competitive prices that generate opportunities in the sector with growing energy demand.

InvestChile, through its transversal investment program in NCRE, promotes and facilitates investment in the business niches that aim to the strengthening of the sector. To do so, it seeks to include new and more players, to promote the technological upgrade of the companies platform, as well as to promote the local capacities.

In order to support the materialization of investment, Corfo's InvestChile offers different services of information, support in the provision of the different stages of a project, access to business networks and financing sources, support in the localization, as well as to search investment partners.

Through its investment promotion and attraction work, the portfolio contains 150 projects that sum up to 2,386 MW and about US$ 4,691 million in investment. From these, 21 are operating with a contribution of 162 MW.
