Corfo's InvestChile and SOFOFA sign an agreement to attract companies in the industrial area

This agreement will be carried out by the Manufacturing Promotion Society (SOFOFA) so that companies wanting to install branches in Chile will have the capability to export their products while complying with the required norms.

For now on, foreign industrial trade companies that want to expand their companies into Chile will have a new service. Through Corfo's InvestChile, they will be able to access a complete expert consultancy that will allow them to handle the keys to exporting products from Chile to the world, taking advantage of the country's numerous Commercial Treaties and Trade Agreements.
Juan Antonio Figueroa, Executive Director of InvestChile, and Cristóbal Philippi, General Secretary of SOFOFA, signed an agreement that will join both institutions with the hope that foreign investors will come to Chile to produce and export their products.
To export from Chile, other countries are required to comply with origin norms. This agreement will provide foreign companies access to consultancy in order to comply with such standards.
SOFOFA will provide expert consultancy to Corfo's InvestChile to provide information to potential investors who are attracted by the new Industrial Logistic program, that starts to operate this year for foreign companies with a strong emphasis in Latin America.
"We are very happy to sign this agreement with SOFOFA because it gathers the necessary conditions that we need for this new program and it helps us attract investors. As Corfo's InvestChile we are boosting the country as a regional pole of innovation and supporting the idea of making Chile the Singapore of Latin America," said the Executive Director of InvestChile, Juan Antonio Figueroa.
Likewise, Cristóbal Philippi highlighted that "this alliance with Corfo's InvestChile will allow us to respond to the requirements of many foreign companies that are looking at Chile as a good platform to project their businesses and to strengthen their presence in Latin America; this is also happening to companies in the region that are thinking about exporting through Chile to Europe and Asia, in the Trade Agreements framework that our country has signed, it is essential to comply with the requirements of origin established in these Trade Agreements".
This agreement is greatly important to the new Industrial Logistic Program of InvestChile, since it will facilitate investment decisions making of those foreign companies that choose Chile as the place to develop their businesses.
Industrial Logistic
reated by Corfo's InvestChile, this program' goal is mainly contributing to increase the industrial investment in the country' 15 regions, by attracting foreign companies that have products that comply with the norms of origin for their exportation, taking advantage of Chile' treaties and international agreements.
Among its immediate objectives, we find the promotion of Chile as a place with comparative advantages for the production and exportation of products; the generation of interest on foreign companies that plan to internationally expand, making the most of the comparative advantages of the country regarding its free trade agreements, infrastructure and environment conditions, among others.
What is Industrial Logistic in Chile?
It involves carrying out transformation processes, and the assembly and/or production of products in Chile in order to make the most of the free trade agreements that Chile has. It provides opportunities for those industrial companies, especially from Latin American countries that have a smaller commercial opening by taking refuge in the origin norms and export their products in more favorable conditions.
